John Winston Ono Lennon2 (born John Winston Lennon), MBE (Liverpool, UK, October 9, 1940 - New York, United States, December 8, 1980) was a multi-instrumentalist musician and songwriter who rose to fame as one of the founding members of the Beatles, British rock band active during the 1960s, and recognized as the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed in the history of popular music.
